INTRODUCTION
Six children, five mothers, three marriages, two step-children and failed relationships with all of them. I was a willing participant in the love making that created these children but failed to live up to my responsibility to provide and care for them. I posture in the role of being a “Father” to a flock in the religious setting, but negligent as it pertained to taking care of my own. As I sit and reminisce over a half century of living, I conclude that the biggest blurb on my earthly resume is my failure as a father. The greater tragedy was my failure to inquire on how I could become more active in their lives. I am a Pastor, husband and street activist and yet while trying to care and save so many others, my own seeds were being neglected. Was this a sacrifice that I had undertaken or was it just plain neglect? What in the world was going on with me? How did I get to this point?

Bryant Ali shares how his “shortcomings” manifested themselves in his life and in his relationships with his children, in hopes that he can get at least one “Failed Father” to change direction while he still has the chance.
