+ What will it cost me to have Enid-Books Corp., write my book?
There are several factors that go into the cost. If Enid-Books Corp., acts as the Ghostwriter AND Publisher, payment can be made in the form of royalties (a percentage of the book's profit - to be negotiated). If Enid-Books Corp., in its capacity as the Publisher assumes the cost associated with Publishing, i.e., copywriting, ISBN, printing, etc., Enid-Books will be reimbursed the cost up front, through books sales in addition to the Royalty payment until such time as the cost has been recouped. (This amount will be broken down in the Contract Agreement). After the cost has been recouped, Enid-Books will continue to receive its Royalty payment.
For Ghostwriting, the cost is contingent upon whether or not you wil be giving Enid-Books existing material that you need edited or tweaked, or if Enid-Books will be writing from scratch. Will Enid-Books have to do any research? How long will the book be? When would you like the product to be completed?
Ghostwriting charges may be assessed in a variety of ways, including by:
•the hour
•the word
•the page
•a percentage of profits
•a combination of the above
The charges can range as follows:
•$0.50 to $3 per word
•$4 to $40 per page
•$50 to $150 per hour
For Editing, it depends on what type of editing Enid-Books will be doing.
•Proofreading: Proofreading is about getting rid of the cosmetic errors. It is not comprehensive. Proofreading does not entail reworking text, or rearranging content. Proofreading is to catch surface problems with the content of your book.
•Copy Editing: Copy editing is improving style, formatting, and accuracy. Copy editing is making sure there aren't inconsistencies, and that the style flows well - in addition to being grammatically correct. The editor may be required to restructure some paragraphs, or heavily correct style, flow and grammar.
•Content Editing: Content editing is much more intensive. It may require adding things or rewriting sections of content that would make the story flow much better.
The cost of editing can range from $20-$35 per hour.
+ Why is it so expensive?
Writing a book is hard work and very time consuming. A good ghostwriter doesn't just write. He or she rewrites, too. A good ghostwriter goes back over the work time and again, making sure it's perfect. It's a total commitment. You'll be asking somebody to put aside months of his or her life to write your book. To help with your cost, Enid-Books will bill monthly for Ghostwriting services.
+ Who gets the author credit?
You do. There will be no mention of Dawn Monique Edmond (acting as Enid-Books Corp.), as a ghostwriter/co-author unless you agree to it.
+ How do you get my information?
Enid-Books will meet with you in person and will provide you with a hand-held recorder so that you may record your thoughts as they occur. We will meet regularly in person, conference by phone, and communicated by email as we proceed chapter by chapter.
+ Will you keep my information confidential?
Yes. Enid-Books' ghostwriting contract includes a confidentiality clause. Your secrets are safe with Enid-Books Corp.
+ How long will the whole process take?
It depends on the length of the book, the amount of background work needed, your ability to keep all scheduled appointments, and to return all requested revisions, corrections, or additions to Enid-Books in a timely manner.
+ Will I get to review the work as it is being written?
You will be forwarded each chapter as it is completed. You'll be required to make any corrections, additions or changes as you deem appropriate. No chapter will be considered finalized until you authorize it, to make sure that Enid-Books is telling your story as you would.
+ What if I've already written my book, and I just need help polishing it?
Enid-Books can assist with editing, formatting and correcting minor grammatical mistakes, and major rewrites. Enid-Books can also provide you with a detailed manuscript critique. Enid-Books can help make your book something you can be proud of!
